A beautiful score, a lineup of oscar-worthy actors, and a level of prestige and heart seldom found in a film… After everything shown in the trailers over the past several months, I must say that my anticipation for any film this summer cannot even come close to matching that of The Man of Steel. Every piece of dialogue in these short clips have surmised everything about the Superman mythology that has endeared fans for the past 70 years of its existence. I am seriously hoping and praying that this film will be everything that it clearly has the potential to be. The premiere in 5 days cannot possibly come soon enough!
I love how some of the greatest levels of sentimentality can be reached through music… How even spending time with close family, old friends, and new people in your life can never reach that level of nostalgia that a song’s lyrics can pull you into. Sure, they may be sung in Icelandic, but the translation of them are just as universal: the blissful innocence of one’s childhood, and the means of holding onto that for one’s lifetime in the pursuit of happiness. After reaching 22 years of age as of yesterday, I sit here now after an all-nighter thinking about nothing else but the yearning to hold onto that child-like curiosity that drives me to explore, discover, and live my life to the absolute fullest.
